Darren Ringelstein, Principal Dentist
Darren is the founder of Algester Dental and our primary dentist.

After graduation from Qld Uni with honours in 1988, Darren travelled overseas, living, studying and working in the UK and Germany.

Darren is a visiting lecturer at the University of Qld on prosthodontics (replacement and restoration of teeth). A special area of interest for him is Sports Dentistry. He has been the ‘team dentist’ of many of Australia’s premier sporting teams, including the Qld Reds, Australian Wallabies and Qld Reds Rugby College.

He is a member of Australian Dental Association, Federation of Dentistry International, Prosthodontic Society, Aesthetic Dental Society, Implant Society, Cadmus Study Group and is a Fellow of the Academy of Sports Dentistry.

Darren is married and has 3 children aged from 6 to 11 years, who keep him very busy indeed on his days off!

Nick Tsui, Dentist
Originally from Hong Kong, Nick grew up in Townsville and Brisbane. Nick’s desire to study Dentistry moved him to Melbourne, where he completed his Bachelor of Dental Science.

Graduating with Honours from the University of Melbourne Nick decided to move back to sunny Brisbane to continue his dental career.

We’re pleased that Nick joined the Algester Dental team as a Dentist in 2005. Nick is a part of the Australian Dental Association, a member of the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry and also a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. His aim is to always provide the highest quality of dental care for all ages.

Renee Sharland, Dental Assistant Team Leader

When Renee completed High School she was undecided between Veterinary or Dental studies. Fortunately, Renee chose the latter. Now she has been “part of the furniture” since 2002, working in our team as the Dental Assistant Team Leader.

Renee's qualifications include Level 5 Dental Assistant (with the Australian Dental Association), a First Aid Certicate and a Certificate in Infection Control.

Away from the office, Renee loves animals, particularly her beautiful Cocker Spaniels Ella and Hector. She also enjoys dancing, going out with her girlfriends and spending time with her husband.
