Root Canal Treatment, or RCT, isn't the scary procedure people think it is. In fact, RCT is a simple two-step treatment that helps you keep your decayed or injured teeth.
RCT is necessary when the tooth's sensitive pulp is infected from decay, gum disease, loose fillings or repeated dental work.
When any of those happen, RCT comes to the rescue. The pain-causing pulp is removed and the tooth and root canals are cleaned and shaped. The clean canals are then filled to prevent reinfection. Finally, a finished restoration is put in place, sealing and solidifying the tooth.
